Conflict of interest disclosure

The company that operates CostCheckup also operates a direct-to-consumer telehealth business. That is a real conflict. This page states what it is and what this site does about it.

What the conflict is

A site that compares telehealth companies, operated by someone who runs a telehealth company, has an obvious incentive problem: it could rank competitors down, leave them out, or write about them selectively. Each control below removes the ability to do one of those things, so a reader does not have to take anyone's word for it.

• This site is a separate company with its own branding, infrastructure, and books from the operator's telehealth business.
• That telehealth business is not listed on this site and never will be.
• Data about every company here is collected the same way, from public pages only, whether or not that company competes with the operator.
• No one who works on this site or on the operator's telehealth business submits reviews, ratings, comments, or price reports about any listed company, on this site or on any other platform.
• No company can pay to be listed, ranked, removed, or described differently.

Clean and overlap categories

Every category on this site is classified as one of two kinds, and the classification is stored as data next to the prices rather than as a promise in prose.

• Overlap: the operator's telehealth business sells treatment for the same condition, to the same cash-paying patients. A category counts as overlap if that business offers it today or has announced it within the next six months.
• Clean: the operator's telehealth business does not offer treatment in that category and has none planned.

The classification was last run on Aug 14, 2026 and is run again whenever the operator's service lines change. Ambiguous cases are resolved toward overlap: if a reasonable reader would see the two as the same market, it is overlap.

What fact-only means on a page

In an overlap category, a page on this site may contain:

• Prices as the company publishes them, and the same prices normalized to a month.
• Required membership and platform fees, and the resulting all-in monthly cost.
• What the price includes: visit, medication, shipping, messaging.
• Cancellation, refund, auto-renewal, and trial terms, quoted from the company's own documents.
• Company facts such as provider model, pharmacy model, and insurance acceptance.
• The date each of those facts was last checked and a link to its source.

In an overlap category, a page on this site will not contain:

• A ranked or ordered list presented as best, top, or recommended.
• A score, rating, or grade for any company.
• A verdict, a pick, or a statement about who a company is right for.
• Editorial assessment of any company, positive or negative.

Tables in overlap categories sort by whichever column you click. Pages load with a default order so the table is readable, and that order carries no judgment about any company.

What is identical in both classes

Collection method, evidence, dating, tier labels, and the corrections process are the same for every company in every category. The class changes only whether a page is allowed to carry assessment on top of the facts. Themethodology page describes the collection rules that apply everywhere.

Commercial links

This site currently carries no paid, sponsored, or commissioned links. If that changes, every page carrying such a link will say so plainly at the top of the page. A commercial relationship will never change a number, a sort order, an inclusion decision, or an assessment. Companies with a commercial relationship and companies without one are collected and displayed identically.

Reviewer disclosure

Any clinician who reviews content for this site discloses their own telehealth affiliations on the reviewer page. Clinical review is not yet in place, and no page on this site currently carries clinical review or medical advice.

If this stops working

The controls on this page are structural: exclusion, classification stored as data, identical collection, and public evidence. If they ever stop being enough to keep this site independent, the answer is to separate the two businesses or stop one of them, not to relax the rules quietly.
