Corrections
Prices change, pages move, and collected facts go stale or get read wrong. This page states how to tell us, what we do about it, and what stays on the record afterward. Anyone can report an error: a reader, a company, or a company's representative.

Useful reports name the page, the exact figure or sentence, and what the correct fact is. A link to the company page that shows it is the fastest route to a fix.
What happens after a report
- Acknowledgement. Every report gets a reply, including reports we end up disagreeing with.
- Recheck against the source. We reread the company's own public page that the fact came from, and capture a fresh dated copy of that page as evidence. Collection rules do not change for a correction: public pages only, no accounts, no checkout entry, exactly as described on themethodology page.
- Correct or explain. If the fact is wrong, it is corrected and its last-checked date is reset to the date of the recheck. If the page now says something different from what it said when we collected it, that is a price change rather than an error, and the record shows both the old dated fact and the new one. If the fact matches the source page, we say so and point at the evidence.
- Note on the page. A correction that changes what a reader would have understood carries a dated correction note on the page it affects, stating what was changed and when. Corrections are not made silently.
- Requeue. A corrected fact is flagged for recheck on the next collection pass regardless of its category's normal cadence.
Versioned history
Every fact on this site is stored with the date it was observed. When a fact changes, the new value is recorded with its own observation date and the previous value stays in the history rather than being overwritten. That applies to prices, membership fees, cancellation mechanisms, terms text, and the confidence label attached to each.
A number that was true on the date shown does not become an error when the company changes it later, and the record shows when it changed. The same versioning is what builds the price history this site publishes.
What corrections cannot do
- No company can pay for a correction, a removal, a change in sort order, or any change to what a page reports. There is no commercial route into the dataset.
- A correction changes a fact when the fact is wrong. Disagreement with a correctly reported fact is not a correction, though a company is welcome to point at a page that says otherwise, and we will check it.
- Company profiles and comparisons in overlap categories carry no assessment to correct, only facts. Thedisclosure page lists which categories those are.
Reporting something other than a factual error
Reports that a page reads as medical advice, that a comparison breaks the fact-only rule in an overlap category, or that a page fails to disclose a commercial relationship go to the same address as factual corrections and are handled the same way. CostCheckup treats those as errors in the same sense.
