Legal entity Dermacare, LLC d/b/a BlueChew, Chicago, IL. Per Sherwood News (third-party, Sep 2025): co-founded by Steve Sullivan (former options trader at Citibank) and Dr. Alex Jovanovich (medical doctor); the two "have been starting businesses for like 20 years" together since high school. Prior company Dermacare (2015-2017) was a prescription skincare telehealth business — the entity name Dermacare, LLC carried forward into BlueChew's current legal name. Per Sullivan (quoted): BlueChew is self-funded/bootstrapped, "I don't have to sell any shares or anything to that extent" — not venture-backed and not publicly traded, unlike Hims & Hers or Ro. No acquisitions, IPO, or outside funding rounds found in any source checked. LegitScript certified (seal on every page footer, links to legitscript.com/websites/bluechew.com).

How to cancel

Quoted from BlueChew's terms and help pages on Aug 14, 2026. Only the cancellation mechanism is in our words; everything else is the company's.

How cancellation works

Cancellation mechanism
self serve online
Automatic renewal
see terms belowRenews automatically until cancelled. "We will automatically renew your subscription on a monthly basis beginning on the 'next billing date' identified in your shipping confirmation email and approximately every 30 days thereafter (the 'automatic renewal date') ... Your payment account will be charged the then current rate for the same subscription selected by you in connection with your original service order on each automatic renewal date." Price-change notice: "We will provide at least 3 days' notice prior to any changes in standard pricing." (Return and Refund policy / FAQ pages; not stated in these terms in the Terms and Conditions document itself).
Cancellation terms as published
Self-serve: "To cancel your subscription, login to your BlueChew account and look under the 'My Plan' tab and select the 'Put On Hold' button in the 'Status' section. You can either select to (1) 'Just skip my next order' ... or (2) 'Cancel billing until I come back' ... Rest assured, you won't be charged for any upcoming orders with either selection." (FAQ/ Account). "There is NO contract and NO hidden fees." Alternative: email support@bluechew.com. NOTICE-PERIOD DISCREPANCY (unreconciled — flagged for recheck): the Terms and Conditions state cancellation/modification must happen "at least 48 hours before the next billing date ... in order to avoid automatic renewal" ("RECURRING PAYMENT SUBSCRIPTION PLAN" section); FAQ/Account separately says plan *switches* require "at least 48 hours before your next subscription renewal"; but the Return and Refund policy page AND the FAQ/General AND FAQ/ Shipping-and-Delivery pages all independently state, in identical wording: "To avoid your next charge, submit your request at least 24 hours before your renewal date." Three same-day, live BlueChew pages give a 24-hour cancellation window; the Terms and Conditions give 48 hours. Not reconciled anywhere on the public site.
Refund policy as published
"Unfortunately, BlueChew cannot accept returns for prescription treatments. If you have any questions or are dissatisfied with the treatment you received, we encourage you to contact our support team at support@bluechew.com or via chat on our website. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we will do our best to address any concerns you may have." (Return and Refund Policy page, and identical text in FAQ/General and FAQ/Shipping-and-Delivery). Terms and Conditions, more restrictively: "EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE SET FORTH IN ANY RETURN OR REFUND POLICY PROVIDED TO YOU ON THE SERVICES, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PURCHASABLE THROUGH THE SERVICES ANY APPLICABLE FEES AND OTHER CHARGES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE IN WHOLE OR IN PART." No case-by-case refund carve-out (of the kind other telehealth ToS's publish, e.g. a 48-hour initial-order window) was found on any BlueChew page checked — refunds are handled only via discretionary support contact, not a stated policy right.
Trial terms as published
NOT FOUND. No free-first-month offer, introductory shipping-fee-only trial, or any first-order-vs-recurring price distinction was located anywhere in the pages checked (homepage, /about, /faq/general, /faq/account, /faq/shipping-and-delivery, /terms-and- conditions, /return-and-refund, /safety-info, /sildenafil, /tadalafil, /vardenafil, the official cost blog post). The only recurring "free" language found is: "Every plan includes a free online consultation and prescription" (blog post) and FAQ: "the prescription itself (no additional doctor fee)" — i.e., the medical consultation/prescription is bundled at no extra charge, not the medication itself, and this is not framed as a time-limited trial. BlueChew.com/plans (the likely home of any trial-specific messaging) could not be scraped (see header note) and its funnel/quiz was not entered per collection rules. Flagging
